X2 have been supporting a leading garden and leisure group with logistics services since 2010 and have again renewed this agreement for the 2014 season, the 5th year in a row! X2 deliver furniture and garden products to over 150 retail sites nationwide on behalf of the customer. They receive orders from the retailer, plan and optimise deliveries, allocate resource, liaise with the national distribution centre and book in deliveries with the individual retail outlets. The deliveries are a mixture of full and multi-drop artic loads, rigids, and 7.5 tonners, with the small pallet quantities and the outlying areas delivered by utilising their pallet network. X2 produce daily and weekly KPI’s for the customer, attend review and planning meetings and are in effect an extension to their own supply chain function. This retail solution which can be provided on a pay as you go basis is an offering which could suit many retailers who are not of a scale which can justify dedicated deliveries for each retail outlet, but where a pallet network would prove to be an expensive option. Implementing the X2 solution reduced this customer’s delivery costs by nearly 30%.
