X2 (UK), one of the country’s leading transportation and 4PL providers, has announced its sponsorship of the Hillmorton Warriors Under 8s football team. The Warriors, who are part of Hillmorton Football Club, are now set to compete in the league and tournaments and promote the club’s focus on good sportsmanship and teamwork.
“We’re thrilled to be involved with the team,” says Ian Cramb, Managing Director of X2 (UK). “Yes, we’re football fans, but more than that, you can’t learn the value of teamwork too young. Youth football is a great way for young people to not just improve their athletic skills, but to gain experience working together. It’s an important life skill and The Warriors is a fun way of learning it. We’re not looking for the next Cole Palmer. I mean, if we find him, that’s great… but it’s about helping young kids develop both as team players and individuals.”

Building on over half a century of local history
X2 (UK)’s support for the Under 8s team is helping extend the influence of the long-established local football club. Founded in 1969, Hillmorton Football Club was the creation of a group of enthusiastic parents and children. The club has since grown from a small gathering of football enthusiasts into a well-established fixture in the community, with 40 teams ranging from under 7’s to senior levels.
The club has a rich history of promoting healthy, character-building activities for young people. Over the years, Hillmorton Football Club has expanded its reach and influence, not only growing its teams but also establishing international connections through its Town Twinning activities. With exchanges to France, Germany, Belgium, and Holland, Hillmorton has created global opportunities for young players to experience different cultures and learn from diverse football-playing styles.
The Warriors Under 8’s team is one of the youngest and most enthusiastic squads at Hillmorton. The team, composed of energetic young players, is focused on learning the fundamentals of football while nurturing the club’s values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for others.
A commitment to community
The current economic climate has seen any number of local community organisations suffer under increased financial pressures. Recognising the importance of nurturing the next generation, X2 (UK)’s sponsorship of Hillmorton Warriors will only bolster the local community. As a company that values collaboration and social responsibility, X2 (UK) sees its involvement in local community projects as part of its wider responsibilities.
Simon Geehan, Head of Operations at X2 (UK), feels that “football at this grass roots level is really important for young people, teaching them great life skills as well as getting them involved in sport. We, X2 (UK), are proud to be in a position to assist, and to give these young players the opportunity and look forward to successful seasons ahead.”
A bright future for the Warriors and beyond
Through its sponsorship, X2 (UK) hopes to inspire other businesses to consider the positive impact of supporting youth sports and get actively involved in promoting teamwork and sportsmanship in communities.
“The under 8s of today are going to be the industry professionals we depend on tomorrow,” says Ian Cramb. “It’s a good idea that we help them grow in a collaborative and positive environment. It will make all the difference to them, and to us, in the future.”
